Annual Film Script Course
The course is designed for working people: one afternoon a week. Wednesdays from 19pm to 21pmThat's enough to learn how to write real screenplays. No prior experience or film studies are necessary. The course starts from scratch and progressively builds the fundamental pillars that support any audiovisual script: structure, conflict, character, dialogue, through the analysis of masterpieces of cinema and the direct work on the texts themselves.
But theory only becomes meaningful when it's put into writing. That's why each student develops their own screenplay project throughout the course, progressing through the stages of the creative process with the teacher's guidance. The journey culminates in a final pitching before a jury made up of teachers and professionals from the sector.

Theory
The pillars of the script
Structure, conflict, character, dialogue, and film dramaturgy. Key concepts learned through the analysis of great works of cinema.
Practice
Your project, your story
From day one you work on your own script. Each week you advance in the creative process with revisions and specific objectives.
Content
1. In search of fire (Genesis)
We all tell stories. What is a story? Traditional forms of storytelling. Communicating truths through lies. The dramatic code.
2. Big Bang
Where do ideas come from? How do you get them? The premise: how to work with it and extract the treasure it contains.
3. Format your story
How does a screenwriter write? In what format? With what programs?
4. Structure: A home for your idea
From Aristotle to McKee: the three-act structure. Your story needs more rooms: alternative structures. Dreadful symmetry: form is content, content is form.
5. Characters: A role-playing game(s)
How to design your protagonist. No man is an island: character networks. Face to face: the adversary. The bow: a narrative arrow toward transformation. A funny hat: characterizing your characters. The four corners: creating conflict between your characters.
6. Two sides: Theme and Plot
What is the theme of a story? The hand that rocks the cradle: the visible and the invisible. The plot: the ocean in which the theme sails.
7. A perfect world
What is the narrative world? Find the right place/time for your story. God Complex: worlds and eras never before seen.
8. The skin of your film: The scenes
The tip of the iceberg. Scene construction: the inverted triangle. Interweaving scenes. The first and last scenes.
9. Look Who's Talking: The Dialogue
How does film dialogue work? Symphonic dialogue. Subtext: indirect style. Find your characters' voices.
10. Double Body: Film Adaptation
An anatomy lesson: the media and the works. Inspiration and fidelity. A thief in the bedroom: rewriting and appropriation. A liquid world: prequel / remake / reboot / sequel / saga.
